Grandview Gardens Brand Identity

Brand identity | Web design | Marketing materials | Vehicle livery

Grandview Gardens are a Queensland, Australia–based tree surgery, arboriculture and stump grinding firm who started up in the UK and then transferred their skills and knowledge to serve residents of Brisbane and its suburbs. They needed a brand identity and website to match their ambitious growth plans.

The brief

Finding their skills in high demand, they quickly outgrew their homemade identity and logo, and came to Bourne and Bred for strong, identifiable brand that would help them grow their business further.

The founders wanted the identity to be bold, bright and distinctive in an overly-saturated market.

The solution

We crafted a design route that used bold typography with a rough edge to give the impression of bark. We developed the letter ‘I’ into a tree shape inspired by the world’s largest tree (a Coast Redwood), and evolved that tree shape into a tyre-track graphic which represents the firm’s rugged outdoor vehicle use.

The colour scheme features a bright, punchy, bold green to help Grandview stand apart from the competition, and we used it to inspire the website design and development, marketing materials, icons and a sub-identity for the firm’s tree-replacement scheme. We also developed a social media template to make sure the images they were sharing stayed on brand.

One particularly exciting challenge was to work on the design for the firm’s truck, and we liaised with the vehicle livery printers throughout the project to make sure it looked absolutely perfect. The company bought a cherry-picker in the same bold green, and they now make quite an impact when they’re out and about in Brisbane!

Take a look at the website.

“We used Bourne and Bred to come up with a new logo for our company that would stand out in a tough and competitive market and actually ended up having the whole brand re-designed. Ian is truly talented, innovative with a great attention to detail, perhaps a perfectionist with a vision. We are over the moon with the end product and service.”
